Syosset, NY, May 10, 2011 – In April, the National Consumer Panel visited the two organizations that were selected as the winners of its "NCP Makes An Impact" initiative to formally recognize their efforts.
The Make An Impact initiative began last year when NCP announced to its panelists that the organization wanted to make an impact in a local community by donating $10,000 to a worthy food pantry. So NCP asked its panelists to submit a brief description of a local organization involved in delivering food to the needy. NCP received almost 1,800 submissions.
After reviewing each nomination, NCP decided to present $5,000 each to The Milan Community Emergency Relief, in Milan, IN, and The Sharing Center, in Paddock Lake, WI.
The National Consumer Panel is an operational joint venture between the two leading longitudinal consumer insights providers in the United States – SymphonyIRI and Nielsen. By recruiting, incenting, and equipping a representative sample of U.S. consumers with handheld scanning devices as well as alternative methods of data collection, the National Consumer Panel provides the highest quality, actionable consumer data to support the needs of both SymphonyIRI and Nielsen. This consumer data is the raw material that powers the insights and solutions that SymphonyIRI and Nielsen individually delivers to their respective clients.
